About Yutaka
Yutaka (he/him) is a Japanese-American queer filmmaker who strives to represent diverse communities in his work while promoting stories that are relatable and inclusive. He owns Prism Frame Media and uses the platform to promote independent film, with each project highlighting unique individuals who want to be seen and heard. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and dining with his significant other, consuming an insatiable amount of audiovisual content, and collecting vibes from the wild. He resides and works in Salt Lake City, Utah, and frequents the Pacific Northwest where he grew up.

After deciding to pursue filmmaking professionally, I utilized this program to master a variety of skills and industry roles, including screenwriting, directing, camera operation, production design, sound, and editing. I spent the last year of the program studying the ins and outs of producing while completing a capstone passion project.

About Sophia
Sophia (she/her) is a writer, director, and producer located in the greater Seattle area. After working as an adoption counselor and sharing the incredible stories of rescue animals with potential adopters, she realized her love for animals was only rivaled by her love of sharing amazing stories. In 2021, she packed up her three rescue animals and moved across the country to pursue her Master's in filmmaking and producing. Since then, she’s worked on several indie projects as a writer, director, and producer and completed a handful of short films. She’s an avid lover of horror films, absurd comedies, and a good fantasy novel.

After spending time studying film from an academic perspective, Sophia realized she wanted to pursue writing and creating films of her own. She utilized her master’s program to gain technical knowledge, hone her writing skills and develop longtime working relationships with her peers.

With a passion for film, Sophia spent her time studying film analysis and the socio-economic context of films and their creators. In addition, she participated in many extra curricular activities, including being a fellow at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival two years in a row, as well as assisting in organizing a campus wide film festival.
